Corelle is the to the fullest extent!
I bought this to put in place of a set of Corelle dinnerware we've had over 15 years. The old set start getting gray and streaky as if the years of utensils against the top in daily use finally took a toll. When I decided to replace that set, I had no doubt that it would be with another set of Corelle. It is lightweight, dishwasher and microwave safe, is thin enough to not stock too high in the cabinet, and it stays nice looking even with heavy use.This set arrived well packed, the Corelle box and effervescence packing inside another box, and everything was intact. The plates are really big! We will probably end up using the lunch plates as formal meal plates sometimes. The bowls also have a very large capacity, easily two cups.One main difference between this set and my old one is the coffee cups are not the same physical as the dishes... they used to be made of the same 'vitrelle' and now are porcelain. I like the new ones better; they have a young more heft and keep...

Only one inadequate fault
I fervour these plates - they are attractive and durable. In particular, the cups and bowls are good, practical sizes. My one beef is that the black stripes are a different finish and rougher texture from the rest of the plate. On when a fork scrapes across one, we all get spine-tingles! If you are sensitive to this, you probably want to choose a opposite style. But I do highly recommend Corelle in general. My 5-yr-old cannot seem to destroy them (and he does try).

I have had this ornament for over a year
I indeed liked this pattern when it came out and immediately bought 2 sets. I am here to buy another (always compare prices).I had Corelle increasing up and liked the lightweight nature of it and the durability. However, the patterns were not so hot for a while. The newer patterns are great! I gave my old plates to a college-bound relative when I got these. It was just too hard on my hands lifting 4 stacked stoneware plates from the diswasher to the cupboard.FYI, and stoneware/porcelain/stoneware dishes with chips should be discarded as dirt/bacteria can get into the unglazed part and you can't get it out. I don't like taking chances with my household's safety. I have never chipped a Corelle dish. My mother did drop one at walmart and it shattered into about a zillion shards, so it is achievable.The only bummer about this set is that the mugs ARE NOT corelle glass. They match but are ceramic. Lenox Butterly Meadow set. These are eminent!
These are wholly beautiful dishes and I love them. The patterns are so delicate, yet the plates are very durable. I really liked the species of patterns on each piece. Even the back of the dishes have butterflies. I was happy to see them at such a discount here. I noticed they are also discounted the same at Bed, Tub and Beyond and a few other places, but are much cheaper than buying them direct from Lenox, even on sale. This set would make a lovely capability for anyone of any age, not just for an elderly person as suggested in the previous review. :) I highly propose them.
Consideration the shape of the mug.
I sweetie this whimsical pattern--the reason I gave this item five stars.I bought this set for my mother-in-law. She will not use the mugs--they sit in her china hutch. She does not like the scalloped causticity around the top of the mug--she says the scallops make drinking from them more *difficult* and less *comfortable*. She also does not like the passage bottom on the mug. She feels they are top heavy and more prone to tipping/spilling.Before buying the whole set, purchasing one mug seperately for a cuttingly trial may be warranted if there is any chance that the scalloped drinking edge or narrow base on the mug may stance a problem for you.

Palm off on I had known before purchasing
I purchased this set as a grant to myself when my husband and I moved into our new home. Our children had gone off to college and I thought the Lenox tableware were a luxury we could now enjoy. Unfortunately, they are mostly a disappointment. On a positive note they are beautiful. We have been using this Butterfly Meadow set right-minded over 2 years now. Almost immediately I noticed how easily these dishes scratch. Aren't plates made with the aim of eating off of them? I won't even offer steak knives when setting the table, unless my guests requisition them, because I know the dishes will become even more marred. I am also surprised at how easily this set chips, and the chipped edges are very pungent. I'm very careful with the set and only hand wash everything, so I'm truly shocked whenever I find a chip. I had such high expectations since this set is made by Lenox. I in the old days owned a set of Corelle dishes which was much less expensive and I used for over 20 years. I wish I had...

Na and Plain. Very Durable
Corelle plates and cutlery have been with our household ever since I remember.This is my favorite plate in our set. Saves us at least one plate to wash. They stack on top of each other wholly.We used to have (we still have them but they are on the shelves) Corelles with color designs but we decided to stick with simple mead ones which is easier to match.Pros:-Durable. Me and my wife have dropped them many times; and they don't hole easily.-Light. Less stress for our kitchen shelves.-Microwave safe-Easy to clean-Dishwasher safe

Excess dish for kids
These are horrendous kids dishes. I wanted to get away from the plastic divided dishes and these Corelle dishware are the perfect answer. They are safe to heat in the microwave, and are very easy to clean, whether they are washed by hand or in the dishwasher. Since we positively don't know how safe using plastic is for our health, and heating plastic is even worse, this is a great possibility. And Corelle is supposed to be break resistant, so that is a plus as well. They are lightweight and stack very compactly. It would be extensive if these were a little more widely available. All in all, great dish for the money, and my husband and I use them too! I should have purchased more, and to all intents will eventually!
