I knew when I ordered the note what I wanted. Brackets (MM-3002).As displayed in the Amazon site, it appears as brackets, pole and satellite dish. The record also states "everything you need to mount an 18" statellite dish.". Not true. You need the pole (MM-3084), which is not on tap at Amazon.

Marvellous Temporary Dish Support
This tripod did an extraordinary job of supporting my dish. I originally planned for it to be a very temporary solution (2-4 weeks) when we moved to a new old folks'. In the end, I wasn't able to get a permanent mount set up for my dish for 8 months (other priorities). It held up well through wind, rain and storms. Marvellous, solid built product.

Not enduring in breezey conditions
This tripod is not steady at all in any breeze or wind, regardless of how the center is anchored. Easy enough to set up, but fails in the stability hinge on. Wound up selling at a flea market. Would not purchase again.

Items in picture are SMALLER than they appear
I ordered this tripod for a momentary mounting solution for my DirecTV dish at a condo. It looked like a sturdy mount and would suit me well sitting on the theme of the patio. I got it, and was puzzled at the small box. It's TINY. Super small. Reducto small. I have an egg-shaped 5lnb capable dish and it would have toppled over at the slightest breeze with this thing. I put it together and when I realized "that's it???" (did I say tiny? not to indicate cheap thin tubing legs...) it quickly went back in the box and now I'll lose shipping $$$.This is categorically NOT worth $50. For $17 at the local home improvement store I got a bucket, 80lbs of tangible and a fence pole that was tall enough and a sturdier mount.Incredibly disappointed.

Satellite Tripod Mount from Amazon
I bought this to mount a DirecTv Slimline 3 dish on so I could have HD TV in my RV. The tripod is solid, and the dish mounts on it securely. However, there are problems. First, it is almost impossible to get the mount exactly plumb when there is not level ground to spot it on. This makes it very difficult to get the dish aimed exactly on the three satellites needed for HD TV. Secondly, the three tripod legs do not tender out far enough to provide a stable base. The dish has a lot of surface area, and a strong wind will blow the dish over. There are pads on the bottom of the legs with holes in them for securing the tripod to the outside, but often the surface is hard and difficult to penetrate deep enough with tent pegs or other fasteners to keep the tripod from tipping. IF the scope is level, and IF the tripod can be properly secured to the ground, it works quite well.

We have to move the DirecTV satellite dish onto a pole/tripod mount because my parents are getting the roofing and side woodwork remodeled and they hanker after the dish to be mounted onto a pole from now on and they want a conduit for the cables. Can

I abide in Condo and can't mount dishes on roof. There's a big pot in the yard where last 18"dish was. When installer came to put new dish they wanted $75 as it wasn't prevalent on roof. They agreed to $60 but cut original pole down to support 36"dish.
Yes because the dish is so much bigger, it has to be supported because of curve resistance. The dish has to be aimed at a certain degree and if it moved, you would get a bad picture. And they do look curmudgeonly. Too bad you have to look at it
