DescriptionSpin-off Features Independently watch and record programming on two TVs Convenient On-Screen Caller ID with retailing Record up to 100 hours of standard definition On-screen Electronic Program Landmark (EPG) with easy access to program listings and information for up to 9 days Single Mode: Double-In-Picture (PIP) available on any TV.Dual Mode: View separate programming on 2 televisions Applied Details Model: 625Customer ReviewsAdroit DVR... a few bugs left to work out. Here's some info from someone who had this for 13 months. This DVR has two modes. In Choose Mode, the same video is shown on both TVs at the same time. Use this if you only watch one of the sets at a time, or if you don't have a TV2 plugged in, or if the bodily watching TV2 just wants to watch whatever the other person has on. You can use Picture-in-Picture in this mode, and do whatever you demand as far as using the tuners to record. In Dual Mode, each TV can operate independently, and each TV has only one tuner at its disposal. When you allot a recording, you can choose which tuner records it (so you'd select either the TV where you'll be watching it live, or, the TV where you *won't* be watching something else busy). In this mode you can also watch two separate recorded shows on the two TVs, or two separate live channels, or a society one recorded show and one live channel. There are three different ways of scheduling recurring recordings: Dish... The by virtue of I am a Dish subscriber is this unit. I credit in stable rates, good selection, low cost, and no compromises on features. The Dish network covers me on this, and the DVR constituent I have from them only cements my goodwill with them.I have tried the Cablevision DVR, for about two weeks, and I've used a friend's DirecTV piece as well. I don't claim to be well-versed in all DVRs and I know they are all different in user interface, if not basic purpose. Dish's 622/625 unit is superior to these three systems' DVR offerings in function and UI.The 625 can accept two words for Picture-in-Picture, or if you have to dishes already, you can split one signal and run the split signal into the back. This is a nice item face for people who want to minimize cable runs in the house. The PiP function is remarkable: it will do viewpoint-preserved scaled side-by-side, as well as two inset sizes that can be moved to nine preset locations (think Brady Lot). The DVR records both signals, as part of the "pause... There are no more "new" 625 Receivers. For some rationale my first review disappeared. This is factual information that can be verified with the manufacturer.I purchased a "new" 625 from a seller here on Amazon and they sent me a remanufactured entity instead. When I talked to Dish Network they told me that they have not made any new 625 receivers in over 2 years and that retailers be aware that they are ordering remanufactured units. Also, if a retailer still has new 625 receivers in their inventory they will not work as the internal smartcards are the preceding generation and expired. The rep at Dish Network did not speak well of retailers selling this model as "new".There are no more "new" 625 receivers, so don't desert your time or money trying to get a new one as they will send you either a defective unit or a reman. If you want a working 625 you will extremity to purchase a reman.

When you go a "cadillac" you don't go cheap with the peripherals; you get good quality. Anyway, we have the DISH Total HD package; nothing but HD bliss. I ordered the 612 to renew the HD receiver that we had that wasn't a DVR as well. We couldn't be more pleased. Great HD/DVR receiver at an Amazon price. My helpmeet loves being able to pause live TV and come back to it after breaks. She also loves to be able to instantly rewind show dialog that she didn't get the first dated to hear it again. The DVR HD recording is flawless; no HD quality loss whatsoever. Highly recommend however please note the 612 is only correct for one TV. DISH does have other HD receivers that will work for more than one TV in the house.Should add that you can also rent on a monthly basis this receiver from DISH but at the low Amazon toll that I was able to score this at I should have it paid for in a short time. The flip side is that if you rent and anything... DVR or Oven? This reaction puts out more heat than you can imagine. And it has a fan constantly running to keep it "cool". Forget having a placid living room. This thing is far out the worst piece of AV equipment I have ever owned. Did I mention when you invert it "off" all it does is turn the front panel LEDs off. The fan is still going, the power is still being used, the heat is still there. 5-evening star so far I have only had this recipient for two days from a new DISH install, but I feel I must post a review here since I was apalled at the low ratings others left. I literally was looking for a diagram/picture of the rear panel layout before the system was installed to get an idea of what I would be getting when the system did make the grade and saw it here. When I saw the low ratings and read them, I immediately felt that "buyer's remorse" feeling thinking I would be getting a atrocious piece of equipment. When the installer showed up, I immediately asked him about reliability/performance of the segment, and he thought it was one that had the least complaints and one that had some of the better features to date. To the contrary of what most have stated here so far, I found the unit to labour quite well. Maybe that will change with time, but so far I haven't noticed any of the deficiencies others have mentioned. The element responds quickly, doesn't lose any frames that I can tell, hasn't locked up, nor...
Ceton InfiniTV 4 USB
Details
Description4-Tuner, Surface, Digital Cable Tuner Card - replace your cable set-top box and use Windows 7's built-in Media Forefront functionality to watch and record four live cable TV channels simultaneously, including HD and incentive channels like HBO, Showtime and Starz. InfiniTV 4 USB uses the same award-winning technology as Ceton's InfiniTV 4 PCIe, the exactly's best-selling digital cable tuner for the PC. When used with Media Center Extenders like the Xbox 360, you can swarm cable live or recorded channels throughout the home over the home network, using only a celibate cable connection and single CableCARD from your cable operator. Requires Windows 7 Adroit in Premium, Windows 7 Professional, or Windows 7 Ultimate and an available USB port on your PC.Customer ReviewsCeton Infinitv 4 USB is Terrible...........I purchased the Ceton Infinitv 4 USB as at once as it was released. Set up with Windows Media Center was very easy. Bit of advice, download the latest drivers from Ceton's Maintain site prior to installation. I had a couple of problems and Ceton's support was quick to responsible my questions. The problems were not with the device, but rather the user. Activating the cable card with my cable New Zealand Comcast was difficult. It took three days to actually get it working correctly. The problem was not with the gadget, but rather the cable company. They had to make sure the Cablecard was in their inventory as a one-way card then they actually had to move as a one-way instead of a two-way card. Once they had it activated it worked flawlessly. I am running Windows 7 with 3ghz processor and 8gb of ram and have no difficulty recording up to 4 shows and watching tv through 3 xbox media extenders at once. This device works huge and now my wife is no longer bugging me to buy 3 tivo's with lifetime... Ceton PCIe vs. HD Homerun Prime vs. Ceton USB The Ceton USB tuner is the last of 3 varied CableCard tuners I have set up. I own a PCIe Ceton card, the HD Homerun Prime 6 tuner module and the Ceton USB. (Yes, that is 14 HD cable streams!!) In short the PCIe is the hands down sovereign of CableCard tuners, the HD Homerun Prime has tuner pooling, and the Ceton USB is pulling up the raise. The Ceton PCIe unit has been by far the easiest set up, most stable and the best card of the three. It has never had a glitch, it was set up and operation in no time, the cable company techs had very little difficulty getting it going and it has never ever shown so much as a individual pixel of picture faults. No "tiling" and no slow downs. No over demands on the computer. The only cons with the Ceton PCIe behave are the heat inside the box and the lack of tuner pooling. Until I could get the other tuners up and running I was sharing the PCIe tuner with two other PCs continual Media Center which worked flawlessly on a wired network. However, without... Works This offshoot works like they said it does. Had to call Comcast twice to pair the cablecard, minute time worked. They had left the data number off the first time. Can now watch TV and record 3 programs at once. Grandeur of the picture is as good or better than with Comcast's DVR. Great product. |

Will a satellite dish and receiver bought in Iraq work in the United States?
I'm currently deployed to Iraq. Hacked satellite receivers and tableware that receive hundreds of channels are readily available. Will one of them work if set up in the United States? I differentiate many other service members have probably tried to bring
Are you so out of pocket you can't buy another satellite dish in the US? Seems like too much of a hassle to bring a satellite dish all the way from Iraq.
