Fanciful for both portable and permanent installations. This mount includes a 2" OD Mast, which is intended for the new DIRECTV 18" Dish, DIRECTV Slimline Dish, DISH Network SuperDISH and Wildblue Satellite Dish. This tripod mount comes packaged well, is made of fat-duty galvanized steel and comes pre-assembled for easy installation. This tripod mount is 4 ft. in tallness, including the 28" mast.

Satellite Tripod Mount from Amazon
I bought this to mount a DirecTv Slimline 3 dish on so I could have HD TV in my RV. The tripod is stalwart, and the dish mounts on it securely. However, there are problems. First, it is almost impossible to get the mount exactly plumb when there is not level lees to place it on. This makes it very difficult to get the dish aimed exactly on the three satellites needed for HD TV. Secondly, the three tripod legs do not last out far enough to provide a stable base. The dish has a lot of surface area, and a strong wind will blow the dish over. There are pads on the bottom of the legs with holes in them for securing the tripod to the top, but often the surface is hard and difficult to penetrate deep enough with tent pegs or other fasteners to keep the tripod from tipping. IF the clay is level, and IF the tripod can be properly secured to the ground, it works quite well.

This mount provides a 2.0" mast, the installer selects the diameter when assembling the design. If the flat roof has a sleight pitch the mast can be adjusted from 2° outward from the draft to a little over 10° inward toward the block area.
No holes need to be drilled in the roof skin, this avoids reluctance by building owners and reduces the possibly of roof leaks. The sum total weight of the assembly can be varied by the use of either "light" concrete blocks or standard weight blocks.
Of track, this and ALL roof mounted antenna assemblies should be tethered to the building with a flexible steel radio for maximum security.

Works zealous, receives all current MPEG-4 HD from DirecTV. Takes a while to install and align properly yourself, but can be done using only your recipient's signal meter.

Habitation built in 1928 but probably renovated at least once or twice before I became the new owner 2005. Satellite dish is about 40 pounds. Can I mount the dish anywhere or is it impressive to find the strongest exterior wall of the house?
