Horrendous Bowls, bad packaging
I ordered 2 sets of these dishes. They were shipped from Amazon in a large box with no packing material. Each set was in its original box, but no packing there either. Out of the 8 shipped, 6 survived. No supporter from Amazon. Very dissapointing.The bowls themselves are very nice. If you find them locally you will be happy with them.
Fastidious bowls, but ridiculously cheap packaging
I absolutely wanted these bowls, bad enough to take a chance despite all of hte reviews that said they arrived broken. I figured some were as old as December and Amazon/Sango would have figured out how to unit fragile bowls for delivery by now. I was wrong. My first order contained two boxes of 4 each. Only 1 bowl made it to me undamaged, the other 7 had broken handles or were broken into so many pieces they were unrecognizable. Amazon was great in getting a replacement direct to me right away, and I feel lucky that the second order had 6 bowls intact and two commission. I'm going to stick with the 6...odds are that is the most that would make it through any shipment given the poor packaging from Sango.In spite of the troubles, the bowls are great. I would recommend finding them in your local store though instead of having them shipped.

Still modest packaging
Normally I would be against leaving a antagonistic review for a product based on shipping rather than the product itself, but in this case I have to go against my principles, mainly to certify no one else falls in this trap. I don't know what I was thinking when I ordered these. I read all of the reviews, especially the ones about the bankrupt shipping, but I figured I would take a gamble. Out of 4 bowls, 2 of them were completely smashed. I don't mean they justifiable had the handles broken off; they were broken into at least 50 pieces. Looking at the packaging Amazon provided, I don't see how it is at all reachable for anyone to receive all four of these intact. UPS delivery men WILL throw your package around. It's done at the sorting center, it's done when they transfer them to the trucks, it's done when they eliminate it at your house. Normally this isn't a problem since most packages are packaged well enough to survive this. But unless, by some miracle, UPS is as smooth as a kitten with your box...

Smashed the First Time They Were Used
Although these are rated for use in an oven up to 500 degrees, mine ruined the first time I used them in an oven (which was only set to 375 degrees). They are pretty thin (not much thicker or heavier than feast plates, really), so don't inspire a lot of confidence when you hold them. So really they should get zero stars. But if you don't plot to use them in the oven, but just as serving dishes they would be cute.
cracks & chips
I do not recomend the sango nova dishware and accessories. I loved the look of these dishes, so I bought everything that went together. Only to be dissapointed, crack after snap. I have now had my set a year, i honestly can say every plate, bowl, cup & saucer has chips or cracks in it. A waste of dough. I would give 0 stars. (My cheap college dishes from walmart lasted me 10+ years)
ruined in the microwave
I was cuisine 5 strips of bacon on the platter in the microwave and the platter actually cracked in half! I have ripe bacon on my other platters with no problem. This is dangerous and annoying. I couldn't find Sango customer service anywhere, therefore, had to profit to retailer, etc.
