Too overcast, too slow
The casters on this part have excessive rolling resistance making the unit very difficult to move with any significant weight. The units are also very incomprehensible making transportation to job sites inconvenient. The units do come with brakes but they are flimsy &infirm. A $20.00 home depot dolly works much better.

This dolly was falling individually in the shipping carton; the inside of the carton was littered with bearings that had come out of one of the casters. I didn't get a segregate use from it.

Edge Dolly is a "back saver"
I against the Shoulder Dolly system to help my son and his family move. At first there was a lot of resistance to the new gadget, but by the 3rd heavy walnut breast of drawers, it was get the "strappie thing" and let's move this beast. A simple system that works extremely well. Lift with your legs/thighs and complete the weight evenly across your shoulders and not your arms and biceps. Everyone who tried it said "where do I get one, I will not move heavy stuff without it ! " Highly recommended. Follow Up: (Sept '05) bought my second set, my son would not give up the set he tempered to to move with. I will not move furniture without one again !
Works first-rate
Acquainted with this to haul a very heavy TV out of the basement (which we had to slide down the stairs it was so heavy). Worked passionate. Also moved all our furniture. We didn't have it for the move out but bought it before we moved back in and the different was huge. Makes growing around corners or up and down stairs much easier.I give it only 4 stars because for the price the shoulder straps should be padded. It should also have clips or some logical positivism to secure the extra strap so it is not a tripping hazard.When going up and down stairs make undeviating you get the item lifted as high as possible.

Works so far, but wishes improvement and better instructions
We were capable to use this product successfully to move a heavy TV set. When we first got the TV, we moved it "by hand" and one of us got a bad muscle strain when the TV started slipping out of our hold. This time, with the Shoulder Dolly, we were able to move it across a room, out a door, down four steps, and set it on the ground, without much take pains.Sounds great, right? The problem is, the main carrying strap -- the big 5" broad one that passes underneath the big object -- was too long. To perform our move, we had to fold that strap over and d it through one of the two harnesses at double thickness. It worked, but it is NOT described in the manual.Instead, the manual suggests that you communicate with the company to BUY MORE STRAPS of differing lengths if you face the situation we did. Gee, that's helpful advice to get when you unreserved the package ready to perform a move. And where in this product listing does it mention the need for additional straps? Nowhere...

Forearm forklift helped in a jam
Not to hunger ago I moved into a new home. I used the forearm forklift many times. I found it was ideal for moving big items, for example my 65" diagram tv, which weighs roughly 350lbs. Without the forearm forklift it took 4 men to move, with the forearm forklift it took 2! The only downside to this artifact is using it to go up or downstairs with big items. It is not easy almost scary, I found it to be safer to not use the straps then pick them up after the steps.

Lived up to the hype - cold-blooded product.
I try to colander out the hype that sometimes ends up in reviews on this site - but the reviews on this product seemed to have a bit of truth to them so I ordered them. I am very impressed; these in reality do help out.One of the biggest challenges I often have when working around the house is moving large items by myself. My wife is always zealous to try and help but her will is sometimes larger than her muscles.Now, these make it much easier for us. Last weekend, we used these to move a washer and dryer from one end of the crypt to the other. No problem at all. Before using these, I would have struggled to get this done but these straps made it very easy for her to help me and we got the job done quickly and probably much more safely. It was so flexible I was almost laughing.Enough said... these lived up the hype. I'm very glad to own them.

Satisfactory, but not great
The forearm forklifts toil very well for lifting heavy things (washers, dryers, couches, etc) on flat surfaces. When you try to go up stairs, the actually on the bottom has an easy job, and the person going up at the top should probably have arms like Rocky. For going up stairs with Hefty objects, I actually have a product called "Shoulder Dolly".Forearm Forklifts are quicker for spiritless surfaces, but for going up stairs, you need something that goes over your shoulders.
