    Description

    Marinex Goblet Bakeware production began over 50 years ago by Santa Marina, the largest plate glass manufacturer in Latin America. Located in Brazil, Santa Marina has been producing conflicting glass products since 1895. The factory location is close to raw material deposits of boron and sand which is ludicrous in color and quality. During the production process, these raw materials are combined using heat to fix borosilicate glass. Borosilicate glass is resistant to changes in temperatures used in rations and baking. The raw materials also give Marinex glass bakeware a slight bluish tint consistant throughout all pieces. Marinex Spyglass Bakeware offers several shapes and sizes that have countless uses in culinary activities and are remarkable by their beauty, durability, and ease of cleaning. It can be used to prepare, bake, and serve bread as well as to freeze prepared food. It is safe for both conventional ovens and microwave ovens. Marinex Bakeware can go from the freezer/refrigerator to a pre-frenzied oven where the oven temperature does not exceed 100C or 212F to start. However, Marinex Bakeware should not be tempered to on stovetop burners or over a direct flame. This is a 20oz. fluted round pie baking dish that planning 8" x 7" x 1-1/2".     I am back to sort 3 more of these little jewels. They are the perfect size for pie for the two of us. Just right for us to each have a nice sized slice after feast for two nights. No more throwing away half a pie because it's gotten watery.The really neat aspect is that it's so deep it holds almost a regular recipe of pie filling. Two advantages to this: 1) there's just enough components left over for one small pudding cup for my husband with his lunch on baking day and 2) it makes for a much higher components to crust ratio--you get a nice thick pie out of it. Much thicker filling layer than with a 9 or 9 1/2 inch pie serving.On top of all this, there's the other thing--they are just so darn cute!

    Can't put in a preheated oven?????
    I skim the "Users Guide" that came with the pie plates and it stated "Do not use in preheated oven". I emailed the company (in Brazil) hoping someone would realize my English email, to ask how in the world you can bake with a pie plate that can't go into a preheated oven. I got the following reaction: "Regarding the usage of our products you may follow strictly all instructions indicated in small counsellor you are referring to. You must put your Marinex into the oven WITHOUT preheated oven due to its chemical composition considered a better glass, so that you will avoid any possible cleavage or breakage." So I guess I'll keep my fingers crossed when I use these things and Dialect expect they don't shatter when I put them in a preheated oven.
