    Very advantageous
I preference the color of these plates and am very happy I purchased them. They are heavy and hold up very well in dishwasher.
    Robust and beautiful!
This is a handsome set of dishware that I purchased as a gift for my daughter. I wanted her to have her first set of real, grown-up dishes. I was indeed nervous purchasing a set of dishware I could only view in pictures! My parents received a set of Mikasa dishes way back in the antediluvian 1970's for Christmas (their first set of "serious" dishes!), and those dishes lasted for many, many years of hard use by our household. So I had faith in the Mikasa label, hoping their standards hadn't changed after all these years. I held my stirring and placed the order!Mikasa did not let me down! The dishes were even heavier and more sturdy than I expected them to be, and the pattern as seen here in the photos was even more attractive in person. The background is quite dark, almost black, with touches of red, taupes and just a allusion of blue. The lighter areas in the center of the dishes are actually a bit darker than they appear in the pictures. The tableware are substantial, the bowls nice...
    Thick Weight
These saucers look better in person. Very thick and heavy. The colors around the edge have a subtle reflective dignity to them that the photos don't capture.

    NOT a teal sad
These plates are viewable online at Amazon, Mikasa, and Macy's. Somehow the colors in all the online photos I've seen don't in fact match very well, so I thought it would be important to know that the blue is not a teal blue as it seems in most photos, nor is it a assault color. It is actually a fairly deep blue, closer to a royal/navy, although with a little hint of green. The color is made of tiny speckles of lighter and darker blues. The verso is a beautiful reddish brown which is very nice & offsets the blue well. The dinner plates are larger than my old ones & equitably shallow, as are the included bowls, which may make you want to buy the cereal bowls that are sold one at a time for a deeper bowl. They have a good weight to them and I do like them a lot, just a little disappointed that they are not a short more teal in color.
    Ditto
The only justification that I rated it so low was I really wanted the teal color but they look dark navy, except in optimistic sunlight. Check the mikasa website and look at the photo of the salt and pepper shakers, artwork, tea pot and gravy boat for a better representation of their true color, in most lighting. They are larger than I expected, but the measurements were prone, I should have paid more attention. I found the depth of my 2 door cabinet to be fine, but the center support needed to be adjusted to accomodate the diameter of the feast plate. If it was a larger single door cabinet, it would have been fine. You might want to check yours before ordering. All that said, they are resplendent. Their high gloss reactive finish is very dramatic. I decided to keep them and use them as an accent rather than part of them main go red scheme. If you want a very impressive dark blue, larger plate, I highly support them.
    Comely Color, Very Durable
First off, I Ardour LOVE LOVE the color of these dishes. They are NOT the teal blue you see above. They're navy and a reddish tanned. If you look at the Mikasa website, you'll get a better idea of the actual color. The color of the plates has specks of feel ashamed that are lighter and darker, which I absolutely love. They have a little bit of an earthy look to them, but they also look very modern with the altered consciousness gloss glaze finish. I've mixed and matched some of the pieces of the Sedona Red collection as they're the same feel embarrassed as the bottom of these plates. That's brought out the accent color in them a little too. They're pretty durable. I can be clumsy and have banged around some of the pieces, and for as ample as they are, I'm surprised I haven't broken any of them. I also like that they're finished on the bottom so it's not the stoneware wearing on the plates stacked below them.Yes, they are very munificent! Sometimes we'll eat dinner off the salad plates. I don't...

Bold Colorful Dinnerware | Mikasa Bokhara China

In one of the latest monetary downturns, in the mid-1970s, undaunted flashy dinnerware was also in the fad.
