Corelle - thin and strong, and this is no rarity. These dishes are halfway between a pie plate and a bowl, between a dinnerplate and a dinner bowl. Perfect for eating on the divan since they have a high lip that catches the food before it slides off. At our house, we use these for dinner plates, they are the first ones selected when they are on the shelf. Of without a doubt, they are dishwashable like any Corelle and they last for years.And I have baked pies in them, my grandma made an onion pie that I bake every few years in homage of her and because it is a great dish that no one ever believes until they taste it, it is a simple recipe, microwave until steamy thin sliced quartered onions. I See eye to eye suit, an absolutely great TV "dinner" plate.
I conform with the other person who reviewed these plates, as I also use these deep dish "pie plates" as dinner plates, especially when watching TV and eating something like spaghetti or hotchpotch that tends to easily slide off the edge of a normal dinner plate. Besides having that great deep dish proceed b conform, they are also light, amazingly durable, easy to handle and super easy to clean. On top of that, they indisputably fit in your dishwasher better than typical bowls do. If you respect the old architectural adage that "form follows role", then you have to give these plates 5 stars from a functional standpoint. They are truly just a great little plate.(As far as the bodily who rated these plates as "1 Star" because they were not deep enough ??? All she had to do was to look at the pictures as they are certainly not misrepresented in any way. To me they are the accurate size and shape.)

Judge I'm not unique using this pie plate for a dinner plate and soup bowl. One feature worth mentioning is that it's headlamp weight. A Pyrex pie plate is too heavy.

Since Corelle is praiseworthy for producing dinnerware and bakeware that cannot be broken or chipped, it's hard to resist holding a plate without second-rate to drop it on the tile floor to see what happens. While Corelle doesn't recommend home tests, this serendipitous 16-piece dinnerware set is still fairly indestructible and is a real asset for busy families. Livingware is amicable to maintain as it's dishwasher-, microwave- and oven-safe and is never off-limits for small children to use and cope with because of its light weight and durability.
The set is comprised of four 10-1/4-inch dinner plates, four 6-3/4-inch currency-and-butter plates, four 18-ounce bowls, and four 11-ounce mugs. Plates and dinner service are all made of Corelle's signature material, Vitrelle, which is created from three layers of glass that are compressed under extreme fervour and laminated for strength. On the other hand, the mugs in this set are crafted of Corelle's stoneware, which is actually breakable and has a heavier fondle than Vitrelle. For diners who recall Corelle patterns as being decorated with rather cutesy floral and fruit patterns, this intelligible, pure white pattern is sure to appeal to their modern preferences. Livingware plates and dishes sport a relaxed and rimless coupe shape and are all stackable for more efficient storage. Superb product
It says a lot about a outcome like this when it's been continuously available since 1970. I've owned Corelle for most of the past 30 years. I recently bought a 17-interest set from Wal-Mart (same as this + a 1-quart serving bowl) for about $24 to replace some Corelle pieces that didn't fellow my Winter Frost pieces and to have more place settings. The mugs are cheap stoneware made in Thailand, not Corelle. They don't indubitably match the Corelle and they're going to the Goodwill along with the mismatched plates and bowls, but it was still a good deal for the holder of the set.I love Corelle. All Corelle looks as if it was stamped out of a sheet of white glass, which is a result of the way it's made. There are no "base rings" or circle handles (which is why there have never been any Corelle mugs). The design makes Corelle very easy to wash and dry. Corelle products in use accustomed to to be unbreakable, not anymore...
Got a 42 chessman set of Livingware in winter frost white for xmas. The plates are nice and look important on a red tablecloth, though a few were slightly warped (you can see it when plates are stacked). However, that was not such a problem as the cups, which are of terrible eminence! I did not use cups on xmas and first used them today. When I took the mugs out from a box one had a barely visible shiver on a side, which I did not see until poured water into it and water started sipping through the crack. Called Corelle for warranty, and they do not assurance cups! So much for a 3 year warranty! On their site and on the box it says 3 year warranty with no asterisk or supplementary disclaimers, but in the care instructions! there is a fine print that cups are not covered. I used to like Corelle and meditation they were a reputable company, but not anymore. They outsourced cup manufacturing to Thailand and now make them out of stoneware, which is tuneful much like glass. So, if you think you are buying...

Didn't pay much, but value every penny.
First of all, I have to say that I've now received three diverse shipments of Corelle from Amazon and two of the boxes have been mangled beyond belief. Amazingly, the dishes have all been fine. But I wouldn't be surprised if others have received defied plates. The set itself is just what I've been looking for, something lightweight and durable that can handle my 4 year old's abuse. My stoneware plates are all damaged and my melamine plates smell weird after a run through the dishwasher, but these Corelle plates are perfect. I love how well they lose one's cool. They take up very little room. And the mugs I received are white. The white is slightly different from the plates because they're stoneware, not lens. But they are definitely whiter than the picture suggests. And mine are made by Corelle. It says so right on the bottom. So maybe they've improved the mugs after all the complaints. Complex little bowls
I don't about I can really say much about these... but, they're very stylish looking, feel extremely sturdy, and the price is mammoth. Very roomy bowls, and they fit quite a bit. I also clumsily managed to drop one on the floor, and it didn't forth, but don't go trying that over and over for fun.If you plan on picking up four of these, just search for "B00028QMFM" - it comes with four of these, but you also get a two-quart Corelle Winter Ice White bowl for free.Also, for those who may be curious, these bowls are made in the USA.

Verastility - Single portion size
The 28-oz move is big enough to handle an entire can of Chunky Soup without spilling over. Add croutons or oyster crackers without limits.It is also big enough for Chinese bread with rice. Without spilling over. Order a small Lo Mein or a small Pork Chow Mein. The roll is big enough to handle all of it - with rice and noodles.The possibilities are endless. Food for ONE. Microwaveable.

These are bad!
Established size, nice thickness. Like all correllware virtually unbreakable. CAn be used for soup tea set, cereal bowls or even small serving bowls. I highly recommend them.
