Bad clinch or damage from warehouse?
I don't distinguish if these pans were damaged or if they were just poorly finished, but I returned the original and the second set that were sent to me for the same plead with. The first set had numerous scratches or dents on the edge of the pan along where the non stick surface finishes onto the anodized back. The 10" pan had the most. The 8" pan had that and a ample dent smack in the middle of the cooking surface. The finish looked fine where the dent was, which leads me to accept it may have been like this out of the factory. The second set I received also had the scratches as the first (one again, more scratching on the 10" than the 8"). The 8" pan this pass had discolorations in the finish, which are likely caused by poor application of the finish at the factory.Whole, I'm not impressed, and certainly not for pans that are "list priced" for 200 dollars. In my opinion, Calphalon should encase these better in the first place. 1/3 of the pan isn't protected...
I can twist pancakes with just a fingernail in these GORGEOUS Non-Stick pans
This hardly arrived well packaged and in great condition from Amazon. I just wanted to show you on video what it looks like out of the box in instance you are interested in how it is packaged which is perfectly! As you can tell from the video, they are GORGEOUS!I was looking to purchase a new flourishing pan to replace my Saladmaster 10" electric skillet that we use to cook silver dollar pancakes twice weekly. About two years ago we purchased an ultra-overpriced titanium Saladmaster oil core electric skillet which over time has turned into you have to put tons of oil to be masterful to flip the pancakes; it is almost like you have to deep fat fry them now although it worked great at first. I first selected the...
    Wonderful, unqualifiedly do slide
I bought the set clear from Calphalon before it appeared elsewhere. The finish is wonderful, the food actually does slide from the pans. My guarantee says they can be washed in the dishwasher. I like the weight, they seem to be more like the old made-in-USA Calphalon bought years ago and passed on to one's own flesh as I have cut back in cooking. I needed good omelet pans (you'd be surprised how many eggs seniors eat (smile)) and these more than satisfied me. A guard I already own fits one pan and I have ordered a cover from Calphalon for the other pan. That's because I tend to use these pans for almost everything I cook, stir fries, sautees, sauces, meats, veggies, I by a hair's breadth made BubbleNSqueak in the large pan yesterday and needed the cover for that dish to tenderize the cabbage. I push this set without hesitation. I am sorry I wasn't able to buy it from Amazon, I am a died in the wool customer of Amazon. I will buy more in the Unison sales pitch and it will be from Amazon.

Great design mirrored with great results
As a gifted chef I run across all sorts of products that are supposed to be the next best thing since sliced bread. However, this pan upright so happens to be the next best thing, and I picked it up at my local Le Gourmet Chef in Hagerstown, MD.Merely put the ultra smooth non-stick surface is smoother than glass; thus cooking requires scrap if no oil and clean up is a breeze with a simple rinse and wipe. As long as you stay away from spray can sprays you will have an enjoyable experience with this cookware or any cookware for that matter. If you must spray in your oil then I suggest you buy an oil mister because spraying from a can fully adds residue that ruins pans and takes away from the flavor of your food after loudening occurs. The best feature for all you home chefs is that this pan is 100% DISHWASHER SAFE! It's also oven protected to 500 degrees. The clear glass cover rounds out the entire package arrangement and is equally easy to clean. It's nice to be able to...
    Scratched after one use
I don't have knowledge of if I just received a bad item, or if the other reviewers treat their pans like crystal, but mine developed lots of scratches (some rather earnest) after only one use. I followed all the instructions for what to do before the first use, and I only used plastic utensils. I was stunned - the cheap pans from Walmart didn't get scratches that faithful. I had to return it.
    Most adroitly nonstick ever
The discrepancy between my old nonstick cookware (Culinary Essentials brand purchased at Costco over 10 years ago) and this Calphalon Unison cookware is like nightfall and day. The food cooks evenly and absolutely does not stick. The pan is weighty without being too heavy and the handles remain cool. The glass lids are also nice. This Unison cookware is one of the few choices that is dishwasher safe and guaranteed for viability, a selling point for me. So far, though, I've hand washed it. A few seconds is all it takes to come clean.

When outside grilling isn't an option
I'm an outside grill cook -- big time. I got the Calphalon Grill Pan as a birthday present, and I must admit I wasn't too enthused. Why would you wish to pretend to grill indoors, right?Well, a nice steak and a rainy day gave me the break to try my pan. I cooked the steak over medium heat on an electric range, and the results were fantastic. I ate the tenderest steak I've ever not poisonous on a stovetop, rivaling the tenderness I get from the grill. Sure, you can't mimic the flavor of cooking on an alfresco grill, but the look (grill marks) and tenderness were identical. I got a slightly sauteed soup because I had a trace of butter and oil in the pan -- enough to make a thin layer coating the bottom. The taste was definitely assorted from an outdoor grill, but regardless the meat tasted excellent. I seasoned it just like I would for the grill before foodstuff.Being a natural skeptic, but enthused by the results with the steak, I decided to try the pan...
Wonderful grill pan, relaxed to use, easy to clean!
I purchased this along with the and betrothed it! The "nonstick sear" surface used on this grill pan does just what it says, giving scarcely enough grip to hold meat in place while still releasing easily when flipping the meat or removing it from the pan.I will affirm that I have not used this pan anywhere near as much as the griddle, but that is simply because we do not grill a lot of meats on the stove. I have done several steaks, however, and they came out spicy and delicious. I'm usually a picky eater and never eat the fat on a steak, but this pan cooked a ribeye so well...
    Low-calibre Calphalon
This pan heats unevenly to the apex where it simultaneously burns and undercooks food. We have not had this problem with our older Calphalon or All-Clad pans. The uneven warmth distribution is undoubtedly related to the thickness of the aluminum. The bottom of the pan is 3.9mm thick. Our older Calphalon pans are 5.5mm thick--40% thicker! Indeed the pans seem lightweight and cheap, similar to non-stick pans you buy at the local supermarket. I suggest you keep off this pan and either buy a cheaper item of similar quality or hunt for better quality. This pan also has not done a great job at striping basics.
