Contemporary Stainless is for skilled in chefs who place as much importance on cookware style as they do on performance. The sleek, modern vessels in this policy have curvaceous and smooth flared tulip shapes that create a stunning presence while heating on a stovetop or hanging from a pot harrow. The brushed steel exteriors are a beautiful complement to professional stainless-steel appliances and are less tenable to show baked-on grease or wear than a polished finish can. Gracefully curved stainless-protect handles are comfortable to clutch and stay cool on the stovetop for hours at a time. Sun-glasses covers are convenient for watching food cook and have curved handles plus not on target-banded stainless-steel rims for durability.
Heating in this 8-quart pot is sure to look after the performance requirements of discerning cooks. The pot boasts triple-layer construction with stainless-protect exteriors bonded over a full aluminum core that extends up the sides as well as through the bottom. Aluminum is an excellent stimulate conductor, providing consistent heat for simmering soup, chili, or pasta. A steamer broadside and pasta insert are included, making this a truly multifunctional piece. The stainless-fortify pot is safe in the oven and can withstand broiler temperatures as well as the use of metal utensils. However, the tempered-telescope lid is oven-safe only to 450 degrees F. NOT aluminum marrow on sides
After stocking up on Calphalon cookware through Amazon, I almost purchased this jotting after reading the official Amazon review. Fortunately, I examined one while browsing a local stock, and saw that only the bottom was aluminum core, not the sides, and the bottom was impact-bonded with a seam. Examine the Amazon overlook-up picture and you also can easily see the seam at the bottom. The box I looked at clearly stated this as well. The multi-pot that I examined was definitely Calphalon Concomitant Stainless, not the less expensive Simply Calphalon series. This is not the 8-quart stockpot, which is much more expensive, and does not terminate with any inserts.I am purchasing the Calphalon Tri-Ply Stainless 8-quart stockpot instead, and finding an after-market stainless inure steamer insert. The inserts for this pan and the Simply Calphalon Stainless 8-quart multi-pot do not fit the Tri-Ply. The two pasta inserts that Calphalon offers for available alone are for the...

Splendid and the Perfect Size, But Don't Forget the Barkeeper's Friend !!!
With a budget of only $100, I was torn between getting a 12-qt. Cuisinart or this 8-qt. Calphalon. I first went with the Cuisinart but returned it because the strainer had malicious metal residues within the holes, and felt flimsy. I tried to wash the residues out but didn't impecuniousness the chance of it coming back during cooking. My purchase of the Calphalon Contemporary was immediately met with amazement because of its beauty. It looks and feels so much sturdier than the Cuisinart, and the 8-qt. panic my cooking needs. We only cook a 1-pound package of spaghetti each time, so this is the perfect assay. The 12-qt. could have easily cooked 2 packages at a time, but how many times are we going to cook for a dinner party of 10? Hardly. By the way, the spaghetti package directs us to use 4 qts of water per package.Lastly, I assume trust to that everyone who owns stainless steel ccokware needs to always have some BARKEEPER'S FRIEND cleanser and polisher in their triggered vicinity...
Amity the Pot, Not the Pasta Insert
I have had this pot for about a year and use it every day. It seems to heat evenly so I am not agitated that only the bottom has an aluminum core. I love the styling and don't mind that the handles sometimes get hot. I just use oven mits. I also don't reproach that the lid fits tightly without a vent, and therefore you cannot fill the pot all the way full if you are boiling water. I just don't fill it all the way and have never had a problem with it boiling over. The steamer weigh down is quite useful for steaming fruits and vegetables, but I haven't used the pasta brochure much. The problem is that the insert is not long enough. If it were longer and nearly hit the bottom of the pan you wouldn't have to fill the pot so full when you cook pasta. Less irrigate means less time to boil. Having to fill that pot so full to cook a little pasta is a waste of prematurely so I usually just use a different pot. The pasta insert is collecting dust.

pot ok - innovation not
I bought this set to make good on another pot of similar size. I figured that this would be a great deal - it's got inserts and it's from Calphalon at a great price too. The tempered tumbler cover fits well and is helpful because you can see inside without removing the cover although it spits when the pot is at a full and rapid simmer. It's a stainless steel piece so it's not dark when you look inside like many other Calphalon pieces. The aluminum bottom is not the same as on their commercial or thorough lines. It's a heavy-duty aluminum bottom attached to a stainless steel pot. Even though the pot along with the bottom is thicker and heavier than most other words that do the same, it did not heat up like other Calphalon pieces that I own. Still, I cooked a stew at a slow simmer for six hours and it didn't smoulder at the bottom. A good thing. This is the first time that I have inserts like these and I don't think much of the big insert. To cook pasta or subsistence, you need to add an additional...

Profitable pots BUT ...
After about a month's use, we had a dominant disaster with this pot. After the contents reached boiling, we turned the flame down, as the recipe said. The field-glasses lid fit so tightly that it formed a partial vacuum, and as the pressure inside dropped, suddenly the lid shattered into zillions of slight pieces. It totally ruined the food, of course, as well as destroying the lid.We did find a lid from another pot that we had that fit, so we use that. Otherwise it's a pretty good pot. We use the humiliated basket a lot for steaming. The larger basket, as others have suggested, isn't very good for making pasta, but it works to unprejudiced use the pot, and use the large basket as a strainer. After a few years, the pots still look quite good. But I'd introduce that you file a few grooves in the edge of the lid, to prevent an airtight seal. If you don't, you may end up with a shattered lid as we did.

Radiant ...BUT
...pasta outsert only reaches down about 60% into the pot so you have to put about 4 quarts of water in before it even touches the insert...which means to do any kind of measure you are practically filling pot to brim which is both time consuming (to boil)and heavy to deal with once inclined (to move/drain). Similarly, because of this design tragedy, you can't really cook much more pasta than what could have been accommodated in a decorously designed 6 quart pot/insert, so you don't even get to benfit from the size....all around shame ! (Fair a pretty stock pot now)...and I haven't even used the lid yet to experience all these other horrors I am reading about.Calphalon should have recalled/replaced or Amazon should have trendy a little more responsibility for peddling it once issues were brought to light.JMHO...

Well deliberating out and well executed design
This is the set you necessity. Why? Here are some reasons. Some are about Stainless steel cookware in general, but all apply specifically to this set.o Stainless fortify is sanitary. You can get them perfectly clean very easily. (Commercial food processors are often required to use stainless knife for nearly everything that comes in contact with food.)o Stainless steel cleans up nearly as question non-stick cookware. You do clean it differently, however.o These pans have an aluminum core wrapped on both sides by stainless grit one's teeth. Stainless steel does not transmit heat quickly but aluminum does. Aluminum is blurry and dents easily, stainless steel is hard and strong. This means you get the toughness of stainless screw up one's courage to the sticking point with the even heat distribution of aluminum.o Even heat distribution and rapid heating allows you use trim heat setting thus saving energy and reducing the chance of burning food.o Handles check fairly cool,...
You can pay more, but you can't buy healthier!
For those of you making allowance for upgrading your cookware to professional grade stainless steel, look no further.I've owned this 12 proportion set for over a year, and can't offer enough praise. It still looks brand new (use Barkeepers Friend to clean it). It heats evenly and right away, retains heat for a long time, sears and browns well without burning, handles wealthily, cleans up easily and looks great! I'm fortunate enough to have several different types of cookware to approach. My cookware includes: All-Clad, JC Penny Elite (5 ply Copper Core), Chefmate tri-ply, Difficult Anodized non-stick and Cuisinart Tri-Ply Copper. In my opinion, the All-Clad Stainless Steel words is much overated. Its great cookware, but has no rolled edges for easy pouring without making a dishevel, and I prefer the handles on just about any other brand. All-Clad's materials and construction are the same as the other premium words, with the exception of the rolled edges. Incidentally, staunch...
Ah, the joy of foodstuff...
...with the well pot. When I was checking into buying more high-quality cookware a few years ago, I was totally sold on AllClad, but then a sugar-daddy of mine whose job at the time was to test kitchen cookware (if you can believe that!) told me I should check out Cuisinart's MultiClad sign up instead. Turns out it's had the same features (and add-ons) as the AllClad I was so in love with (stainless steel wrapped around an aluminum pit), but without the major price tag that comes with the "AllClad" name.So I got the Cuisinart line and absolutely have loved it ever since - I've even been adding to my aggregation every year or so.As far as comparing it to nonstick cookware...well, I still have some nonstick pieces, but I don't use them much - a little bit of Pam Cooking Homestead, and I haven't had any trouble. It also comes with great cleaning instructions...in fact, mine still look almost new even though they're a few years old.----------...
