DescriptionCalphalon LX Series Cutlery 7" SantokuCustomer Reviewsvery wholesome kniferazor keen from the box and retain it edge very well. same quality knives are sold for up to 3 and 4 times that price. Feel benefit in your hands, very good balanced and heavy. Not my first knife of the LX series. My favorites are the chef and the slicer but again this is a very gentle one. Beat knife in the LX series I am a big fan of the Calphalon LX series as a whole. I started picking these up at a alternate store for much cheaper. I first acquired the 5 inch santoku and the paring knife, which is absolutely radiant, might I add. The five inch has what some consider a small handle. I can see what they are talking about, but it isn't too small, just seems small until you start using it. It is a little knife, and does not require a huge handle. The five inch was fun and lethal out of the box. It holds the sharpness reasonably well. I was craving something a little bigger. I searched over a few states looking for the 7 inch. Alas, I found it. It was quality the wait. This knife seemed to be the sharpest of the bunch, and has stayed that way since. The spine of the knife is much thicker than that of a steady santoku, which only aids in its mean bite. This knife is not for the faint of heart. It just feels like a nether regions of a knife in your hand, much different than the 5 inch or even the 8 inch... considerable knife , love the weight had been adding to my "overpriced but worth it " knives slowly then saw one of these paring knives at an off price store and picked it up for 1/3 the honorarium of my more expensive( starts with a W :)) knives as it was too good a deal not to try,. and found I actually love the calphalon Dialect heft and handling so much more the the other brand I bought the 7" santoku and bread knives in that same series...so got all 3 for less than I paid for one of the "W" name brand and like them so much more. who'd have thunk it. someone mentioned staining which as of yet i have not had but i do hand wash right after use...the heft is imo wonderful, like the 7 " vastness as a nice all purpose knife and use it much more than the other brand's santoku ( which is a 5"). now i am looking for the chef slash ...the tangs go clear thru, they are riveted, and fully forged steel so really well-deserved do not see what more you are getting with the more epensive knife and the balance is imo better on the calphalon. didn't give it a 5... |

DescriptionCalphalon LX Series Cutlery 5" Santoku. Fully forged leaflet. Full tang for balance and strengh. Fully tapered from cuttin gedge to spine and from tip to swine for superior strength. Tempered heat hardened to 1000 degrees C. HRC 54-56.Customer ReviewsFop too shortOnce I purchased the 7 inch Santuko, I stopped using the 5 inch. After I bit I removed the 5 inch from my deterrent. I have had no stain issues, but I wash my knives right away. The quality of both knives is tops. The 7 incher is scarcely dramatically more effective. unsatisfactory but nice (that's what she said) I bought the 5 inch santoku before I bought the 7 inch, and I still enjoyment the knife. The five inch is good for smaller jobs where the 7 feels a little big. If you are deciding between the 5 or 7 inch, I will communicate you to get the seven inch, especially if you have large hands. For dicing smaller veggies, firstly mushrooms, this knife is hard to beat. The entire LX line was well constructed and will definitely last a sentience time. The previous poster complains of rust issues, I have not experienced this with any of the 5 lx knives I have. These are notable. The only drawback I see is the thick blade spine, but some feel this is a good quality. IS NOT Contaminate RESISTANT. I received this knife as a bounty. It cuts very well and is extremely sharp. I very much like the way the knife feels in my hand, but it is a bit small for populace with large hands. I am giving this product 3 stars because there are a few blood spots that did not wash out and the wound now looks like there a few faint rust marks. |
