Like this more than I expectation I would.....
I had been toying with the aim of a non-stick "grill pan" for some time, and could never justify the expense... After all, I had a large George Straw boss, and used it very rarely. But I was running out of cookware to shop for <grin>, and began tracking several with the envision of buying the first one that came on at a great price.... I tracked both All Clads, and this one. I almost bought the as a whole All Clad, but discovered they didn't qualify for the Amazon promotion, so that blew that! Then this one came up at $29.99 and I jumped all over it! I have done carp steaks, pork steaks and salmon on it with excellent results. Cleanup, though not a breeze, is swift enough. Cooking residue tends to stick tighter on either side of the rounded ribs, but I have yet to need anything more than a inconsequential dish soap and hot water on a terry dish cloth. One caveat - I seriously dubiousness those with solid top Electric Ranges will be satisfied with this...

who requests a pannini pan?
This is the complete hamburger or grilled fish pan -- and it also makes great panninis, so you don't have to clutter up your Nautical galley with an extra single-use pan. Fits 4 burgers at a time and as long as you take care of it properly, sears nicely without anything sticking. More beneficial than the round shape, and easier to get the spatula in to turn things. Highly recommended.
Stupendous pan so far
Pros - Very nonstick, browns heart well even if it's nonstick, easy to clean up, easy to carry, stay cool metal handles, beneficial shape and size. Cons - Like all nonstick, can't use high heat. I've only had this pan a week, so I'm not solid how well it will hold up, but it's performed excellently so far. I used it to sear a whole beef tenderloin (before transferring to a roasting pan for the oven). The instructions said to sidestep high heat, so I seared it over the equivalent of medium high heat on my 22K burner. The roast browned delightfully and I got good grill marks in the center (not as much towards the corners, but maybe because I didn't brown want enough). Clean up was a breeze, with a couple drops of dishwashing liquid, hot water, and a easy bristle brush to scrub lightly. Must Have for Calphalon Cookware
If you prerequisite to keep your cookware looking like brand new, you really should use this cleaner. Nothing else I have tried works as well. When you use Dormand cleaner, then lave the pot in warm water, the water does not stay on the pot and it dries spot free and looks like the day you bought it.

Kindness my pots were ruined until I tried this!
My cookware was from Costco and against the instructions on the box, I put it in the dishwasher. The outsides of the pots became whitish and deaden. I thought my pots were ruined until I tried this! Wonderful stuff.

A pre-eminent griddle
It's dull and dead-flat. What can you say about a griddle except that it does exactly what you wish a griddle would do. There are no hot-spots, and the handle stays refrigerate. (The Calphalon Contemporary handles are big, and may get in the way occasionally -- but they stay very cool.)One thing, though -- the non-puncture surface is *really* non stick. Make an omlette and it'll spread over just about the whole bottom of the pan in no-time-like greased lightning -- which is just great, so long as you like really thin omlettes. Over-easy eggs can be a bit sticky because it's so slippery -- it's not that easy to get the spatula underneath! (Part of that's because plastic and coated spatulas are thicker than metal ones.) One in good time always I almost pushed an egg right off the griddle and onto the stovetop. But anyone who's ever had something stick to a griddle will not complain that nothing can stick.Cleanup is strange. It simply doesn't get dirty. I've only had this awhile, but I've used it twenty times, and...

Warped Griddle
I purchased this griddle In August of 2006 and use it every Sunday. There is alot i like about the pan, but one giant problem is it warped. I know you are not suppose to put a hot pan in cool water because that will cause this to happen, but I did not do that. I have a even glass top surface to my stove so a warped pan is not good. I do have to say the heat still conducts though the pan to give me even cooking thoughout.
True griddle
I have a shoddy griddle same size, and now have this Calphalon one. BIG difference. Much better heat distribution, better teflon = easier hoover. Handy for bacon (may need to pour of drippings if a lot of bacon), grilled sandwiches, pancakes, eggs.
