Zyliss 12040 Jumbo Garlic Press with Cleaner
Details
DescriptionThe king-sized garlic press is a larger version of the #1 ranked (by industy experts) susi garlic pressCustomer ReviewsHey! It as a matter of fact presses garlic!!!I gave up on garlic presses after dealing with so many that rightful send smashed bits of garlic pieces up behind the plunger. It was easier just to chop the overeat with salt (messier, stickier, and stinkier, but easier). I was quite hesitant to buy this after my past attempts at garlic grave but the review in Cooks Illustrated convinced me to give it a try. What can I say, I'll never use a knife on garlic again! Pros: It's big enough to easily squeeze two or three cloves at once. The infinite majority of garlic is squeezed through the holes into garlic puree (only a little slips up behind the plunger). The cleaner stores slyly in the handle (so I haven't managed to lose it yet which is quite a feat). The cleaner stores sneakily in the handle AND its quite a useful little cleaner too! Rinses clean very easily after use and the age I kind of set it to the side and forgot and let the garlic in it dehydrate in to hard little cementy blobs, it came... Excellent Garlic Press Ever I have been using this garlic press for over two years now and upon it to be the best press I have ever used! The well for the garlic is very large, accommodating more than one garlic clove at a time. When only pressing one or two cloves, you don't at the end of the day have to peal the cloves, the pressing action does it for you! A little more hand pressure is required when serious more than two cloves at a time. Cleanup is a breeze with hot soapy water. Meticulous, but not the best After reading Pastry-cook's Illustrated's recommendation of this press, I was all set to love this press and tried several times to change my mind, but I just didn't. As an alternative, I bought a Calphalon garlic press that I think is a much better one. Pros of Zyliss: (1)It does press most of the garlic out. Slightly more if the cloves are prepeeled. (2)It can press a few cloves at once. (3)It comes with an united cleaner, which is hard to lose. Cons: (1) It is hard to squeeze multiple cloves, signally if the cloves are unpeeled. (2) If you want to press multiple batches, you have to clean out the peels from the whilom batch before proceeding. (3) You do need to use the cleaner (or a bamboo skewer or other pointy coat of arms) to get the smashed peels out of the hopper. (4)If the cloves are unpeeled, the garlic left behind is particularly sturdy to clean out because the holes are slighly recessed on the inside of the...

You’ll never want another garlic crusher after using this one. --Ann Bieri Customer ReviewsMy One of a kind, Steely FriendI'm anxious I've developed an unhealthy relationship with this garlic press. It's so shiny, and has such lovely heft. Most important, it presses garlic with an incredibly fluent and powerful action. I've started to add way more garlic than normal, just so I can keep using the press. Post-press, you simply lose one's cool over the handle and the nonstick pokey side pushes the garlic remains cleanly out. I usually gather those remains and smush them all back in for a closing press. I just can't get enough... When I'm finished, I just lay it flat in the top section of the dishwasher. It comes out superbly clean and shiny each time. You'll love it. Trust me. They legitimate don't make 'em like they used to... HOW NICE! This is the choicest garlic press I have ever seen for any price, ever. Fresh garlic makes such a huge difference. I've gone through about five different presses, and all of them had something I didn't like... except this one! The cleaner is fastened so that it won't get lost. This thing is built like a tank. I never peel my garlic first. I just toss it in, give it a pressure, then rotate the handle around to pull out the peel. Rinse it right when you use it, and you'll never have to run it through the dishwasher. I bought this about a year ago when I cursed my previous press. My mother-in-law (who has carpel tunnel syndrome) used it, fell in love with it, and bought her own. Now, I'm buying one as a gratuity for a friend that thinks cooking with fresh garlic is a pain - he's in for a surprise. This is hands down the easiest to disinfect, toughest, and best built garlic press on the market. Way to go OXO! Rugged time-cutter! I Proclivity this garlic press! I bought it based on the reviews here and I am so glad that I did. I had previously purchased a Kuhn Rikon and it was nigh impossible for me to smash a clove of garlic; I had to ask my boyfriend to help. I also had a no name one that wasn't bad, but I thought maybe I was missing something when populace raved about having a garlic press. I have a hard time mincing garlic with a knife, so I thought I would give this one a try even though the Zyliss had higher ratings on America's Exam Kitchen. It really is very sturdy and since it has such a wide opening you can smash 2-3 cloves at a span. You barely have to exert much pressure and it cleans up pretty easily. I will probably have this one the rest of my viability because it is so well made. I am very thrilled with this purchase!
Kuhn Rikon Epicurean Garlic Press
Details
DescriptionThis abundant, all-stainless steel garlic press is simple the best. It's so efficient that it can press unpeeled cloves and even presses reddish-brown. Designed to fit comfortable into the palm of the hand, it has been engineered to require far less effort to use than other presses. The strainer hinges out to flush clean under water.Customer ReviewsKuhn Rikon tops the Rosle!Since I own both this Kuhn Rikon and the Rosle garlic presses, I have posted this resemblance on the Rosle reviews, as well: There's no doubt that the Rosle is extremely good--in fact, I would have given it five stars by the skin of one's teeth a few weeks ago. But then I purchased the Kuhn Rikon Epicurean Garlic Press (#2315), after reading a recent go over again of it in Cook's Illustrated. After repeatedly comparing the two side-by-side, the Kuhn is unquestionably the better press. It was also about $8 cheaper here on Amazon, but that doesn't seem to be the prove any longer--in any event, I didn't consider price for this review. What's strange is that the embarrassing mechanisms on both presses appear to be identical. In fact, prior to crushing with the Kuhn, I felt let down when I received it, convinced that I had just bought the same garlic press twice. However, for whatever reason (and it remains a mystery to me), the Kuhn's embarrassing of garlic is clearly superior in two ways: 1) It... Major garlic press! I interpret about this particular garlic press in Cook's Illustrated. I have found the magazine quite reliable when they recommend kitchen tools. Like another reviewer, I contemplating the design looked extremely similar to what I already had. Since my current garlic press was not very good (it mainly expelled extract more than garlic) I was a bit apprehensive, but our local organic farm was including a lot of garlic in our weekly produce box so I decided to go for it. Am I ever overjoyed I did. I really like this garlic press -- it performs very well. When I squeeze, nice "minced" garlic emerges from the press. I am very timely with this product and recommend it without reservation. Garlic in anything in 10 seconds Proclivity garlic. Hate mashing, mincing, making paste. I would say I put garlic in about twice as much stuff, now. As easy as powdered garlic. Turn one's back on the peel on and press multiple cloves at once. Don't be mislead if you leave the skin on, you have to clean between pressings or the holes get clogged. Lot of resources, but very sturdy construction. Will last a long time. Also, cleans in seconds. hopper folds out and opens up so it rinses fess up very easily. My last garlic press was seldom used, took too long to clean, took multiple presses as garlic oozed out around the plunger. It was such a nuisance, I chose to smash and mince with a chef's knife (tedious and leaves you fingers smelling like raw garlic), rather than fight with that thing. This press gets practically all of the goods in the dish you are preparing, just papery film remains. |

Calphalon Garlic Press review
After receiving the Calphalon Garlic Press as a pourboire, the giver told me she had acclimated to many presses in her day and she found this to be not only the most sound press, but the beat one ever. I have tested this press 2 ways: with the hull on and with incrustation off the garlic. With the hide on, the press works gauzy but leaves some garlic in the well. When I peel the garlic first, district it in the well and bleed it, I get more garlic through the bottom, leaving behind only a trivialize strand. It’s works like every other garlic press out there, but its austere and consonant construct yields more garlic per press. How it works: the toothed-top of the press (lays on top of the lone clove) presses through to the matched holed bottom, forcing every bit of garlic through the holes....

The well for the garlic is very at liberty, hospitable more than one garlic clove at a stretch. When only vital one or two cloves, you don’t in reality have to roar the cloves, the significant manners does it for you.
