Does a creditable job, things to be aware of ...
I upstanding cooked a thick ribeye steak using this grill. It's the first thing that I have cooked on it. Similar to a tint iron frying pan that I have, this generates a lot of "smoke". I had to take the battery out of my smoke detector, and liable windows. I think I cooked it at a slightly higher temperature than I needed to. If smoke is a facer, think twice about buying this.The result is the best steak I have ever cooked indoors. It beats any stirring grill I have ever used, and it beats the George Foreman grill hands down. I would say that the results are almost restaurant eminence. I look forward to cooking hamburgers within the next day or so.I think this would work better with slightly less thick cuts of viands. Even at high heat it took longer than it would have taken on a grill. During the cooking I put a metal lid over the pan to mechanism splattering.I think it will be a breeze to clean. The pre-eminent burger you'll ever make indoors!
It's squint iron, so you can run this pan as hot as you dare to sear the flavor in. Makes excellent burgers and brats, with comfortably grill marks but no burned spots, even when well-done. Try that with a George Foreman and your burger will be black skin and dryer than the Mojave Desert inside.The square pan provides plenty of room to fry up a few burgers and the hot juices in the bottom are made-to-group for sauteeing a few mushrooms, onions, or peppers to go on top. The handle is fatter than older Lodge designs and degree ergonomic as long as you're wearing an oven mitt. Cleans nicely by boiling a no water in the pan and giving it a quick scrub with a stiff round natural-bristle vegetable engagement and the hottest water that'll come out of the tap.I would recommend this pan over the 11.5" one Lodge also offers because the thicker bottom, smaller sides, and deeper walls of the 10.5" pan demand fairly even heat over the entire grill surface. This is a famed size for 4 burgers or two large steaks. Great for grilling any meat. I had a Calphalon grill pan and the cleanup was detestable, this one is a breeze & it will last forever. I highly recommend it and all Lodge cookware.

Exclusive of indoor grill!
I've had many indoor grills, this one outshines all of them! It is a muscular grill, with space enough for four burgers, sandwiches, chicken thighs or breasts, etc. It heats up firm with minimal, if any smoke. I love the timer option and control of the temperature. It is super moderate to clean and the removable plates fit nicely in the dishwasher. The drip tray is huge and located where it should be, in the back, so when you out up your grill while cooking, the grease goes in it and not on your counter or under the grill. This is a bonus safety resolution which I describe in detail later on in this review.The cooking quality is excellent. One of the reviewers complained about how poorly his chicken and steak turned out. I do not take it that, he must have cooked at the wrong temperatures (too hot), because we've had perfect results every time. It doesn't taste like steamed anything, but like grilled eats. Very discriminative - but then there is the non stick finish
I received one of these for my birthday, take nine months ago. I specifically wanted this one because I have had positive experiences with their cookware.This is one of the best you can buy in this price move. It has a generous size, and gets hot enough for many things. The plates are removable, a big plus. One reviewer correctly aciculiform out that this grill does not get hot enough to grill a steak satisfactorily -- which is quite true. I fit for human consumption chicken breasts, boneless pork chops, bratwurst and sandwiches and it worked best. It has a cheesy plastic slider locking mechanism to hold the top and bottom together that looks like it will crack at some point. Otherwise, it has a very nice look and can be stored vertically.Okay - here it is - the "but" as hinted in my title. After less than 16 uses the nonstick achieve simply started coming off. Remarkable product
I recently purchased this filler from Amazon.com. I have wanted one for months (I have tried many others that were junk). When it finally arrived it had scratches on the top and a foolish dent in the front chrome. The handle was ill fitting and it was obvious that it was ground down to fit the right side. The plastic underpart had elfin chunks broken out of it. All of this was done BEFORE ever being packed. Typical Chinese quality! That said: The temperature and timer markings are uninspired and hard to read. The knobs are kludgy and hard to grasp. HOWSOMEVER! It cooks equitable near perfectly. I am truly amazed at the non-stick coating; all you need is a little supportive of water and a few swipes with a sponge and the grills are perfectly clean. I have never seen a product like it before. I muse over they said the coating is made by GE. Would I recommend it: A qualified -- YES but the price should be somewhat lower. At least it isn't indecent like that Cusinart junk is.
