Works defeat over peak
This would be cured if one leg was adjustable so you could mount it on slopes, but as long as you center it over the peak, it works fine. Note that there's only one way it will fit or else the pintle pads on the bottom won't line up right. This is not mentioned in the instructions. Instead of buying the official mast with extravagant shipping, simply go to your home supply store and get a length of 1-1/4" electrical funnel (EMT), it's the same gauge (16) as the better masts and 10 feet is only about $8.

This is a well made mast back up for the price. For a home made DB8 style long range HD antenna I installed it straddling the line of a 20x24 foot outbuilding. It took some fiddling to get the mast plumb; the geometry of the tripod and the roof line (I think the roof is 6/12 pitch) made visualizing this installation a bit confusing but once I got it up there and moved it around it was exquisite. The tripod feet swivel to adapt to the roof pitch and screwing them down made an even tighter fit. The one hardship in putting one of these up is the necessity of screwing it into at least two rafters in order for it to be sturdy. Most roof sheathing in all probability won't provide enough of a bite for the screws (which aren't included---I think I used 2.5"x5/16" lag screws) and would...
Huge product
I use this while camping and it works stupendous. So much easier than hauling the dish in a bucket of concrete! It's very sturdy and I also draped a bag of sand around the brackets in the centre for reinforcement and it has withheld very strong winds. It was so windy at the campsite a couple of days ago that two roadblock earthwork sawhorses were knocked over, but the satellite is still standing! Would highly recommend for campers.

I'm getting satellite TV but I current in a first floor apartment. I'm not allowed to have it mounted on the building or my balcony so I was told to get a tripod. I'm looking for suggestions on how to keep it there so nobody can amble away with it.
Can you put the tripod on your balcony? If there is any nice of a line of sight out the back (i.e. not looking into a huge apartment building or a bunch of trees) i would ask if i could precisely have it sit on the balcony. If it is just free standing

I right-minded got permission to mount a satellite dish on my balcony in my apartment since you have to ask first, Now I'm stuck with choices. I'm a massive TV Watcher, Watch a some football, Possibly some reality shows while I'm at it, even cartoons.
Dish Network has the raise picture. It also has one of the best dvrs available. I always thought direct tv was the way to go but I got an offer from dish that was too ethical to pass up. Glad I went with Dish Network.
