I ardour them... only one little problem
I loved my Italian Countryside set when it indoors, the neutral color without being totally plain was exactly what I wanted, having gotten dead tired of blue stoneware that clashed dreadfully at the holidays. I unpacked them and washed them and got ready to put them to another place... and HELLO... the dinner plate won't fit in my older style 12" northern cabinet!! I was standing in the kitchen ready to cry because I thought I was going to have to send them back until my handy manage was able to rout out the back of the cabinet door enough to let them fit. The plates stick out just far enough that the door wasn't closing, so pace your cupboards before ordering. Other than that I like the set very much. A few small flaws in the glaze on the back of the dinner and salad plates but none on the upper covering. I also love having so many other pieces available in the pattern. I am also quite happy that my very hard on the dinnerware mollify has not broken or chipped a single dish yet. That is testament to...
Splendid but need better packing...
I admiration the dishes and posted a positive review on the 45-piece set. With this particular item I ordered two sets. The sets were shipped independently and oddly the top salad plate in EACH BOX was broken. Seems like Mikasa needs to re-think the packing for this configuration. (Amazon's case packaging was good with those air-bubble spacers in the box.)I will add one comment about the size of these dishes. Both the plates and the cereal plates are OVERSIZED. I was really surprised at the size of the cereal/salad bowls.

We are very pleased as Punch with our purchase, we were able to get them much cheeper through amazon than anywhere else. It pays to shop around! as some items that amazon had were more or the same as in the concern stoeres.We purchased these dishes for their durability.

Distinction control is TERRIBLE
I was exceptionally disappointed that BOTH the 45-piece sets I purchased were defective. There are black speckles, suntanned spots, even a green spot in the glaze. This is on nearly every single piece. I have contacted Mikasa by their 800 compute and was told they were aware of the problem and would send me good sets, but so far nothing has been done. This is creamware and it should be creamy immaculate with no dirty looking spots on it. I love the pattern, the size of the plates, everything but the quality. They in reality need to address this problem at the factory, and not sell seconds as top quality china!
I amity my new dinnerware set!
This was such a chaffer expect at $199. Not only did I get the service for 8, I also got 5 serving pieces. The set of dinnerware arrived promptly....and the shipping was unencumbered. On top of that, I got another discount for spending a certain amount of money. It was a much better bargain than eBay!One plate had a small chip. Amazon was wonderful about compensating me for it with no hassles. Since I can buy more pieces to this set, I was easily able to repay the one plate locally with the money refunded to me. Amazon really stood behind the product. I was very well satisfied with the artefact and service from Amazon. Thanks!

7 years of use later: still incomparable
My spouse and i received a set of Italian Countryside Dinnerware for our wedding back in 2000. Nearly eight years later, they are still as nice as the day we received them. We use them regular, and have found the quality to be very high. The only issue we've had is that the handle of one of the coffee mugs has a crack in it that has caused the feel to start to come loose from the mug. Only one of the mugs developed this problem, so I'd say it is an irregularity not a design problem.I can verify that this is a quality set of dinnerware. If you like the design, you can't go wrong with this set. We also own all of the mixing bowls, large coffee cups and saucers, and two serving trays. All are together nice and have stood the test of time.

French Countryside Makes Massive, Long-Lasting Dinner Wear
This is my first magazine for Amazon! That's how much I like this set. I also wanted to share the good experience I had with Amazon.I love, fondness French Countryside by Mikasa! In my college days when I worked in the bridal department of a department store, we would have tons of brides calendar for this pattern as well as Italian and English Countryside by Mikasa. I myself ended up with English Countryside. Isn't it funny how your tastes change though? I like the French Countryside so much recovered now! After about 12 years and 6 moves, most of my English Countryside pieces were missing or broken and I needed a new set. I had always remembered French Countryside, and when I started looking for new china, I on this one right away.The French Countryside is well made, heavy, and elegant. It can be formal or informal, depending on how you scold it up. Some ladies in other reviews say they dress up the white plates with red table accents at Christmas. They are outstanding example...
Malaysia-made is sympathetic but be careful of China-made
I take to task the 45 piece so highly because it is really well made. I agree completely with others.However, be careful when buying larger pieces such as the good rectangular serving platter, the large oval serving platter and the 5 piece pasta move set. The ones I bought are all made in China and the quality is very different than the quality of this F9000 series. The glazing on the bottom does not shroud the bottom edge of the plates (where it sits on a table) This edge is unglazed and rough like "sleazy plates" and water can seep in there and go all the way through to the top of the plate. If that water is dirty (like on a countertop) you now have a dye inside the plate, that shows through, that you will not be able to remove. They chip easily, the glazing is uneven, tough in spots and worst of all, it is a whiter color than the cream colored pieces in the 45 similarly constituted Malysian made dishes I have. Pretty but...
Comprehensive, I think this set of china is very attractive. but I wish I had fully considered some issues. I didn't clear that the soup bowls are huge. They are more suitable for a hearty bowl of soup for lunch than for a first conduct of a dinner or a scoop of ice cream for dessert. Second, my set is made in Malaysia, but I purchased a separate serving move at the same time from Amazon, and it is made in China. The Chinese-made bowl is slightly yellower and the porcelain get rid of is not as nice. Now I am scared that if I purchase the smaller fruit bowls that they won't match the Malaysia-made set. At long last, the plates are very deep, over an inch, so they don't fit the prongs of my European Bosch dishwasher really well, which is made for thinner china.
