    Not merit it
These are almost the worst "microwave" plates I've ever against. Sure, they don't get hot but if you need to microwave anything longer than 3 or 4 mins at a time, these plates will begin to melt. I've got some with mellow blend-impressions where of the food I was reheating, some of them deep pits. You can't use regular flatware to cut meats or anything sitting on them well-spring the plastic is softer then the food and get cut too. And if you have anything that weighs more than the plate, you're going to have to use at least 2 hands to remove the dish from the oven since they aren't strong or ridged enough--I often grab a regular non-microwavable plate to glide these plates onto since I don't want the microwave plate to fold during removale. You're better off looking for better microwavable plates. I'm using the ones I have fist as frisbies.
    Alarming for Microwave but scratches
The Advanced Microwave Plates are awesome for traveling as well as in home microwave cooking and reheating. After over 10 years distressing to find decent plastic plates I can use in the microwave that won't break as we travel in our RV, these things are the miracleware they promote themselves to be.They will handily clean in the dishwasher (if we had one) and are microwave and freezer safe.Unfortunately, they are easily cut by knives, even dinner knives, leaving scratches on their integument. And I've snapped one in half after pulling it out of the microwave with hot food on it. The weight of the food slid out of the center and the face wasn't firm enough to take the flexing. These do flex, so they are good for all around dining, but don't expect it to carry a stupendous unbalanced load of food from some holiday feast. They are simple and easy to clean, above all with the Rubbermaid recommended Dawn dish soap, which leaves the plates grease pardon and quickly...
    My Family Loves Them
I purchased a set of four of these plates in June of '08 after my spouse continually complained about how hot the "microwave safe" dinnerware would get in the microwave. I was used to the fact so thought it would be something just for him to use. However, we all scramble looking for them when we for to use the microwave. My kids will not use the microwave without one and I find I look for them first as well. I am finally going to purchase 2 more sets because they have become essential.Pros: Not all but as hot as regular plates Heating is more even than the cold spots you get with other dishesCons: They do stain (but, so what you don't serve guests with them) They do cross out (again, no big deal they are not costly to replace.)Overall, well worth the few bucks

Corelle Livingware 16-Draughtsman fall apart Set, Service for 4, includes 4-each 10-1/4-inch Dinner Plates, 6-3/4-inch Currency and Butter Plates, 18-ounce Soup/Cereal Bowls, 11-ounce Stoneware Mugs, Winter Rime
Since Corelle is popular for producing dinnerware and bakeware that cannot be broken or chipped, it's hard to resist holding a plate without unsound to drop it on the tile floor to see what happens. While Corelle doesn't recommend home tests, this unpredictable 16-piece dinnerware set is still fairly indestructible and is a real asset for busy families. Livingware is undemanding to maintain as it's dishwasher-, microwave- and oven-safe and is never off-limits for small children to use and handle because of its light strain and durability.

The set is comprised of four 10-1/4-inch dinner plates, four 6-3/4-inch cash-and-butter plates, four 18-ounce bowls, and four 11-ounce mugs. Plates and cutlery are all made of Corelle's signature material, Vitrelle, which is created from three layers of glass that are compressed under unusual heat and laminated for strength. On the other hand, the mugs in this set are crafted of Corelle's stoneware, which is in reality breakable and has a heavier feel than Vitrelle. For diners who recall Corelle patterns as being dyed with rather cutesy floral and fruit patterns, this simple, pure white pattern is solid to appeal to their modern preferences. Livingware plates and bowls sport a relaxed and rimless coupe word and are all stackable for more efficient storage. Corelle warrants this dinnerware pattern against cracks, chips, breakage, and staining for a full year from the meeting of purchase. --Cristina Vaamonde

    Suitable product
It says a lot about a offshoot like this when it's been continuously available since 1970. I've owned Corelle for most of the past 30 years. I recently bought a 17-part set from Wal-Mart (same as this + a 1-quart serving bowl) for about $24 to replace some Corelle pieces that didn't match up my Winter Frost pieces and to have more place settings. The mugs are cheap stoneware made in Thailand, not Corelle. They don't thoroughly match the Corelle and they're going to the Goodwill along with the mismatched plates and bowls, but it was still a good negotiation for the rest of the set.I love Corelle. All Corelle looks as if it was stamped out of a sheet of white bifocals, which is a result of the way it's made. There are no "base rings" or loop handles (which is why there have never been any Corelle mugs). The design makes Corelle very cosy to wash and dry. They're very thin, and they stack with virtually no extra space in between them so they use remarkably little cubbard latitude. A stack of ten...
Corelle products reach-me-down to be unbreakable, not anymore...
Got a 42 type set of Livingware in winter frost white for xmas. The plates are nice and look adroit on a red tablecloth, though a few were slightly warped (you can see it when plates are stacked). However, that was not such a problem as the cups, which are of terrible prominence! I did not use cups on xmas and first used them today. When I took the mugs out from a box one had a barely visible report on a side, which I did not see until poured water into it and water started sipping through the crack. Called Corelle for bond, and they do not warranty cups! So much for a 3 year warranty! On their site and on the box it says 3 year warranty with no asterisk or extra disclaimers, but in the care instructions! there is a fine print that cups are not covered. I used to like Corelle and regard they were a reputable company, but not anymore. They outsourced cup manufacturing to Thailand and now make them out of stoneware, which is mellifluous much like glass. So, if you think you are buying...
Didn't pay much, but good every penny.
First of all, I have to say that I've now received three unusual shipments of Corelle from Amazon and two of the boxes have been mangled beyond belief. Amazingly, the dishes have all been delicate. But I wouldn't be surprised if others have received broken plates. The set itself is just what I've been looking for, something lightweight and stable that can handle my 4 year old's abuse. My stoneware plates are all cracked and my melamine plates smell spooky after a run through the dishwasher, but these Corelle plates are perfect. I love how well they stack. They take up very little room. And the mugs I received are whitish. The white is slightly different from the plates because they're stoneware, not glass. But they are definitely whiter than the perfect example inform suggests. And mine are made by Corelle. It says so right on the bottom. So maybe they've improved the mugs after all the complaints. I would well recommend this set to anyone with small children. And you might want to add some of the...

    Corelle is the superior!
I bought this to repay a set of Corelle dinnerware we've had over 15 years. The old set start getting gray and streaky as if the years of utensils against the top in daily use finally took a toll. When I decided to replace that set, I had no doubt that it would be with another set of Corelle. It is lightweight, dishwasher and microwave safe, is thin enough to not haystack too high in the cabinet, and it stays nice looking even with heavy use. This set arrived well packed, the Corelle box and lather packing inside another box, and everything was intact. The plates are really big! We will probably end up using the lunch plates as formal meal plates sometimes. The bowls also have a very large capacity, easily two cups. One main difference between this set and my old one is the coffee cups are not the same research as the dishes... they used to be made of the same 'vitrelle' and now are porcelain. I like the new ones better; they have a unimaginative more heft and keep...
    Only one unimportant fault
I sweetheart these plates - they are attractive and durable. In particular, the cups and bowls are good, practical sizes. My one squawk is that the black stripes are a different finish and rougher texture from the rest of the plate. On occasion when a fork scrapes across one, we all get spine-tingles! If you are sensitive to this, you probably want to choose a exceptional style. But I do highly recommend Corelle in general. My 5-yr-old cannot seem to destroy them (and he does try).
I have had this mould for over a year
I actually liked this pattern when it came out and immediately bought 2 sets. I am here to buy another (always compare prices).I had Corelle rising up and liked the lightweight nature of it and the durability. However, the patterns were not so hot for a while. The newer patterns are great! I gave my old plates to a college-bound relative when I got these. It was just too hard on my hands lifting 4 stacked stoneware plates from the diswasher to the cupboard.FYI, and stoneware/porcelain/pottery dishes with chips should be discarded as dirt/bacteria can get into the unglazed part and you can't get it out. I don't like taking chances with my kinsfolk's safety. I have never chipped a Corelle dish. My mother did drop one at walmart and it shattered into about a zillion shards, so it is practicable. The only bummer about this set is that the mugs ARE NOT corelle glass. They match but are ceramic. My old set had corelle mugs. The daub does look slightly...
